We’re Building Inselan with eBay Sellers — Join Our Early Access

I’m building Inselan to help online sellers manage their business from one place — starting with eBay.

Inselan connects supplier, eBay fees, inventory and shipping data into one view of your real profit margin.

Running an eBay business generates a lot of data: listings, orders, fees, shipping costs, product costs, refunds, payouts and more.

The challenge isn’t simply getting the data.

It’s turning all of it into a clear picture of your real business performance.

That’s the problem I’m trying to solve with Inselan.

Why I’m building Inselan

There are already plenty of tools that connect to eBay and help sellers manage their businesses. But I believe there is still a gap.

A seller might see that an item sold for $24.99. That sounds good — until you account for product cost, eBay fees, shipping, packaging and other expenses.

The number that really matters is:

“How much did I actually make from that sale?”

Inselan is being built around that question. The goal is to bring the important parts of an online selling business together while putting accurate profitability at the centre.

Starting with eBay

eBay is where Inselan starts. I’m focusing on eBay first because I want to understand its marketplace, data and seller workflows properly before expanding further.

The long-term vision is broader: to help sellers manage their business across multiple marketplaces from one platform. Listings, orders, inventory, costs and profitability shouldn’t have to live in separate systems simply because a seller operates on more than one marketplace.

But that’s the future. For now, the focus is simple: start with eBay, get it right, and build from there.

What Inselan is becoming

Inselan is being built around the day-to-day workflows of online sellers. The platform is being developed to bring together:

eBay listings and orders
Product and inventory management
Suppliers and purchasing
Product costs and stock
Shipping and packaging costs
eBay fees and financial data
Profitability analysis
Buyers and feedback
Returns and cases
Automated buyer messages
Financial overview & analytics

The aim isn’t simply to give sellers another dashboard. It’s to help answer practical questions:

  • Which products are actually making me money?
  • What does each sale really cost me?
  • Where is my profit disappearing?
  • How is my business really performing?

Why Early Access?

I don’t want to build Inselan in isolation and discover later that I’ve misunderstood how sellers actually work. That’s why I’m looking for a small group of experienced eBay sellers to use Inselan during Early Access.

Real sellers have different workflows, different inventory sizes and different challenges. Their experience can help identify what works, what doesn’t, and what should be built next.

Who I’m looking for

I’m currently looking for around 10 eBay sellers to join the Early Access programme. I’m particularly interested in sellers with established businesses and a few hundred listings or more.

You don’t need to be a huge seller or run a team. What matters most is that you’re actively selling on eBay and have enough real-world activity to put the platform through its paces.

What Early Access includes

Early Access is completely free. You’ll get access to the features currently available in Inselan, as well as new features and improvements as they’re released.

In return, I’m looking for:

  • honest feedback;
  • suggestions for improvements;
  • feedback on existing features;
  • bug reports;
  • ideas about what would make Inselan more useful.

This is an early version of the platform, so you may occasionally encounter unfinished features or bugs. That’s part of what Early Access is for.

Help shape the product

Your feedback at this stage can directly influence what gets built next. If a workflow is difficult, a feature isn’t useful, or something important is missing, I want to know about it.

The goal is to build something that works for real eBay businesses — not just something that looks good in a feature list.

Founder Pricing for Early Users

Inselan is still in active development, so the final pricing structure hasn’t been finalised yet. Early Access users will receive exclusive founder pricing when paid plans are introduced.

The exact plans and pricing will be announced before the transition to paid accounts. For now, the priority is simple: build something useful, test it with real sellers, and make it better.

Interested in joining?

If you’re an active eBay seller and would like to help shape Inselan during its early stage, I’d love to have you involved. Early Access is free.
